Resolve ‘The Event Log Is Full’ Error

If you are having this problem there are two methods which you can take. One is to configure Windows to automatically delete the last event log to make space for the newest event log which Windows is trying to write. Secondly you can also simply increase the overall size of the log file

Start by opening WINDOWS EVENT VIEWER. There’s several ways to open the program.

  1. Start==> RUN ==> type ‘eventvwr’ without the quotes
  2. Control Pannel==> Administrative Tools==>Event Viewer
  3. Right click on ‘My Computer’==> Manage==> Event Viewer

The current event log size are display on the right-side of the window.

In this example, we’ll change the log size for APPLICATION EVENT LOGS though the procedure for changing log size is exactly the same for the other event logs on the list.

To change the log size for APPLICATION, right-click on the event log and select PROPERTIES. Under LOG SIZE, you can increase the log size in (KB). In addition you can also allow Windows to manage the logs by enabling it to OVERWRITE EVENTS AS NEEDED or OVERWRITE EVENTS OLDER THAN..(specify a date range).
