For convenience, Windows saves your recently open programs and documents on the start menu for easy quick access. Ever wonder how to clear the clutter from the recent Items menu every time the computer restarts? This also cleans the jump list as well
To have Windows automatically clear the recently opened items, we’ll need make changes to LOCAL GROUP POLICY. To access it click on STAR ==> and type GPEDIT.MSC. 
In GROUP POLICY EDITOR, navigate to USER CONFIGURATION ==> ADMINISTRATIVE TEMPLATES ==> START MENU AND TASKBAR. On the right pane, double click on CLEAR HISTORY OF RECENTLY OPENED DOCUMENTS ON EXIT.

Force Window to clear recently opened documents and applications on restart, select ENABLE
To disable it, select DISABLE or NOT CONFIGURED. Then press OK.
